Spent Matariki weekend in Wellington after a weekend of drinking was craving a good feed Popped by and found this place ordered the nice pack x2 for $29.50 you get 4 fish and $5 chips in auckland you would say that's crazy as pricing is alot cheaper in the 09 Getting this pack you save about $1.80 if you decided to buy 4 fish individually with a scoop of chips It did take awhile which is understandable as only 1 guy working at the time but I think his wife came out to help Got home and opened up one of the best chips I've ever had I've had alot of fish and chips in the past all over but what was different with this ? There was minimal oil not greasy like all other places and fresh + crunchy because I was too hungry I didn't get photos of the food lol the fish was beautiful batter is very thin which is the best part once again the fish was not greasy either salt was perfect not too much just right I would highly recommend this place

Not usually a reviewer but this place deserves it! I've been going for over 10 years and even though I long since moved away from Newtown I still won't get fish and chips anywhere else. The loveliest lady behind the counter who always remembers my order even though sometimes it's been years since my last visit. Always perfectly crispy fresh fish, and huge fillets! Best chippy in Wellington hands down

Best I’ve found in Newtown. Tried them last night for the first time and very impressed. Shop looks tired and dated but the quality of the food for the price paid more than makes up for it. I will definitely be back.

Actually probably the best deals as far as dollar value go for fish n chips..I haven't seen cheaper fish n chip combo deals anywhere else yet, honestly and I have been to many chip shops. The portions sizes in the cheaper combos may not be huge ,but value for $ I think is pretty good
